Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could enable the team enter areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Fans can look forward to finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
